Not only has the marvellous awwwww inducing man of the 4th floor sorted out my wireless predicament, moonlighting unofficially to deal with my personal stress, my man Ket’s worked his magic spit and polish to return it, looking like a new machine, fully loaded with Office 2007! Truly, a prince among men! And people whine about IT being unhelpful (unless you are of a peculiar persuasion that simpers on being referred to as honey by certain annoying member of the technologically adept team). Gross misrepresentation. He’s even got pishka to run on battery for a civilised amount of time, despite the threatening messages Lenovo keeps posting. My smile widens as I grapple with the allegedly simpler ribbon design that wraps itself at the top of my screen…he’s even added shortcuts to translate Office 2003 commands to the new look 2007. Csikos, eat your heart out….
I wonder if there’s anyway I can get rid of some of the commands on this ribbon thingy. Oho! It does a word count - how marvellously sneaky!!
P.S. – what has that wizard done?? My fake battery is now charging at 98% when it’s been languishing at 84% for months! Grrrrowl, she feels like a souped up ‘vette!
